Training for the graduate freshman has been successfully completed

Strongly supported by the Graduate School and Department of Student Affairs, the training activity for graduate freshman held by the library has been brought into the First Class of Entrance Education in 2013, and was highly emphasized by Zhang Shulin, the deputy principal of USTC. From September to November, almost 20 information-obtaining quality training activities with department characteristics have been held successfully.

Based on the information requirements of graduate freshman, the training activity gave us a complete introduction of electronic resources, including database, e-journals and e-books, as well as the overall arrangement and other services of the library. The activity was held so successfully that many students attended said they really benefit a lot. Not only did they learn more about their departments, but also fully understood the functions of the library. Besides, they expected more activities like this to help them develop research and innovation capacity.

Supported by the teaching secretaries, teachers and student leaders of different departments, the training task was mainly undertook by the staff of Information consultant Department. Through the training activities and interactions, the library has built a good relationship with teachers and students.
